Hello there! Jah’rakal is a really fun to play but rather underused hero because he has little potential in league games, so this guide will focus on Jah’rakal as a killer/rambo type and not a team player:)

Berserker’s Rage (G)
Jah’rakal goes berserk, using his throwing axes as a melee weapon. He gains 27 minimum damage and 12 maximum damage, 100 HP, 3 armor, 7% move speed, and the Bash ability, but can only attack at melee range.
Level 1 - Bash has a 5% chance to deal 25 bonus damage and stun for 2 seconds.
Level 2 - Bash has a 5% chance to deal 50 bonus damage and stun for 2 seconds.
Level 3 - Bash has a 10% chance to deal 25 bonus damage and stun for 2 seconds.
Level 4 - Bash has a 10% chance to deal 50 bonus damage and stun for 2 seconds.
Mana Cost: 0
Cooldown: 0
A good mid-late game skill. The best time for hunting is once you Max this skill
Blind (D)
A searing light blinds the vision of a target enemy unit, making it miss on some attacks.
Lasts 15 seconds.
Level 1 - Misses on 15% of attacks.
Level 2 - Misses on 24% of attacks.
Level 3 - Misses on 33% of attacks.
Level 4 - Misses on 42% of attacks.
Mana Cost: 20
Cooldown: 8
When people say that Silencer/Viper is the most annoying harraser, they are WRONG. Blind is the most annoying harassing spell in the game(Note That I didnt say best) as there is nothing more annoying than missing a perfectly timed last hit on a creep. The skill that is to be Maxed out early
Fervor ()
Passively increases the attack speed of friendly units within 300 AoE.
Level 1 - Increases attack speed by 5%.
Level 2 - Increases attack speed by 15%.
Level 3 - Increases attack speed by 20%.
Level 4 - Increases attack speed by 30%.
Stack with Necronomicon Archer’s Endurance Aura.
Mana Cost: N/A
Cooldown: N/A
Fantastic skill mid late game for pushing and killing. You wont be learning this early though as it causes you to push more quickly.
Rampage ®
Troll Warlord goes into a feral rampage, increasing his attack and movement speeds.
Lasts 30 seconds.
Level 1 - Increases attack speed by 40% and movement speed by 5%.
Level 2 - Increases attack speed by 80% and movement speed by 7%.
Level 3 - Increases attack speed by 120% and movement speed by 9%.
Mana Cost: 100/ 150/ 205
Cooldown: 55
Add this to Fervour and you get 150% attack speed. Add this to Rage and you get 16% movement speed. This skill is the reason why people fear troll.

Max Rage, then fervour and add points to your ulti whenever possible

-Blind is maxed because its your only harassing tool(and a very annoying one)
-Stats is next because rage is useless earlygame and Fervour pushes your creeps too far in to the enemys camp.
-Max ulti whenevr you can cause its pawnage. MS grants can save your ass during ganks and you might score a lucky kill.

Troll is a shitty farmer, so I dont think most games would even allow you to complete Mjollnir, so I wont add more Luxury items.

0) Wraiths
There shouldnt be an argument against this item actually, because its a cheap way to boost your agility and strength.
1) BKB
This item should be gotten first because Troll gets owned by disables and stuns , which almost all heros have. With this item, its possible to attempt a kill everytime the cool down is up. The prospect of missing nearly 50% of your physical attacks and not being able to stun/disable Troll while he is on a Rampage is scary.
Strength component is relavant for survivalbility as you are one weak troll earlygame
Damage is always welcome for Troll as he is a dps hero with insane attack speed.
2) BoT (Complete it as and when you feel like it)
I hate the BoT vs Power treads arguement so I will keep this short.
Troll has enough attack speed, so the attack speed treads provides is redundant.
Teleport is pretty useful for many reasons, escaping, farming…etc.
3) Crystalys
Q: WTF? Why dont complete Buriza? Why just this crap.
Well, I dont know about you, but I find it impossible to farm up 2600 gold for my Demon Edge. If you can do it, fine, but you gotta farm up a hell of a long time without attempting hero kills which will be pretty boring.
Crystalys is a cheap and easy way to boost Trolls dps as it adds a very nice 35 damage and 1.75x crit. Adding damage is the best way to improve Trolls dps as Troll already has a monster attack speed.
4) Maelstrom
The Maelstrom is also another easy way to increase trolls dps.
It adds 25 damage, 6 agility+ Chainlightning orb which increases your dps by around 60-70 which is not bad given its low cost!
Total cost of Item Build with BKB+ Crystalys+ BoT + Maelstrom + 1 wraith
3360+2200+2350+3800+460= 12170 gold, which isnt so bad given the fact that the most of the components are pretty cheap and wasy to farm up.
5+6) Mjollnir+buriza
Since you already have the basic components, why not get these items to furthur improve dps? These items will usually not be gotten as the game would have ended by then, but they are the best ways to improve damage, which is the main focus of Troll.
7) Vlads?
If you are having big problems with survivalbility, you can get this item after Crystalys for the Lifesteal. It also adds damage, which is pretty useful.

Q: Why not S+Y
A: Its not a bad item actually, but I like maelstroms orb better as it contributes more to your dps. Furthurmore, adding damage will increase Trolls dps more than adding agility. The strength you get is overkill as My build already contains so many survivalbility items!

Game walkthrough+ Strategy
Earlygame (1-6)
1) Get your prefered choice of starting items. I like getting a flask, a circlet, a slipper, and stock up on tangos.
Lane with another hero at the side lanes because Troll sucks big time earlygame(no stun) and will get harassed to no end. Last hitting willnot be discussed because its common sense.
Try blinding the hero everytime the creep wave is low on health so that that you can deny him the deny and sucessfully last hit. Also, he may miss whilst trying to harass you, which is a big help. Remember, it cost only 50 mana, so spam it!
Good lane combos include Axe and Lich.
Axe can use his battle hunger which synergises with blind as the opponent cannot last hit properly, causing him to suffer the full duration of battle hunger. The lich can easily deny creeps with dark ritual and combine that with blind, your opponents will be pretty pissed. This is not to mention that With his frost nova, you may actually get a lucky kill with rampage.
Early- Midgame (6-12)
By now, you should have
2) Boots of speed
3) BKB(almost completed)
The main objective of this period is to farm for your BKB, because killing other heros is very difficult without it. (Actually, the reason why troll is hardly used in high level games is because he cant do shit without a BKB which takes quite awhile to get, which is darn irritating.) Remember that unlike may ultimates, you dont have to save Rampage for later uses as it has a very low cool down. It is OK to use it if an ally stuns an enemy at full health, even though your ulti most likely wont kill him.
Midgame(13-20)
Ahh this is when the fun begins. This stage to me is the reason why Dota is so fun because it is jam packed with ganks which are sooooooo enjoyable.
You should have these items
4) Crystalys
5) Maelstrom
6) BoT
These items are mainly to provide cheap and easy to farm up damage to boost dps. The reason why you should not be busy farming up for a demon edge is because you have to participate in ganks(well its more fun than farming) and the chances of dying is pretty high.
Killing techinques
Trolls combo is very straightfoward.
Get ally to stun, BKB, Rampage, blind, wack away
Reason why BKB is so important is because Troll is weak against stuns or disables, and in that state, he cant deal damage and can easily die. Your dps at this stage can easily touch 160 per second,which is pretty good, considering that you did not farm much.
At level 10, get a tank to tank the damage for you when you want to kill roshan and grab the ageis B4 your ally can take it(be a bastard, its fun:)) After Roshan respwans, Convince the tank to help you once more and promise him that you would give the aegis to him. After you have killed Roshan once more, break your promise and take the second Aegis.
Late game
Chances are, the game is over with luck, your kills will top 20. It dosent matter if you win the game really, the kills are the fun. Without kills, dota wont be fun, so have fun!

8)Buriz
Those 2 items should be your final ones if the game continues further, although the game would have to drag for more than 1.5 hours in order for that to happen.
Conclusion
Well have fun playing with Troll Warlord. He has one of the highest dps in the game so, it should be fun seeing the red numbers fly!

Power Treads (Agi)- The high attack speed is what makes Troll such a killing machine, combined with agility it adds even more power and speed to troll. If you need a speed boost just use Rampage.
Helm of Dominator - This is the key to my build, the lifesteal is effective on melee and range, thus this allows me to utilize beserker's rage, and gain lifesteal no matter what form I am in.
Crystalis - I agree with your choice here, it gives a nice damage boost to help with the life steal of HoD and provides crits that pop up every half second thanks to Troll's awesome attack speed.
This is the basic build for my Troll Warlord and from here your ganking begins and you may farm for luxury items like:
Lothar's Edge- oh boy do i like invisibility
Butterfly- Agility and Evasion... oh yeah
Mjollinir- Never actually tried this but sounds good and expensive
Satanic- Nice STR boost for extra HP and lifesteal in the late game

The reason behind skill setup:
Fervor with the aura of AS and MS makes my creeps and Troll super quick ninjas. This allows me to get more hits and last hit better.
Stats help me early game not to get killed as easily and give me some damage boost.
Rampage is self-explanatory.
Waiting for beserker's rage is good in my build because your attack speed doesn't really become high enough to utilize the bash until level 12 and 13 (you don't need the fourth level of B's Rage because it only adds a little damage to the 10% Bash)
Blind to me is pointless because it doesn't really affect early level heroes because they are so slow at attacking anyways.
Troll Warlord Gameplay:
In the beginning your job is to solo one lane and deny creeps with your super awesome attack speed. Thus you collect all the exp. and your opponents become weaker, because they gain none (our base build is fairly cheap so you don't need too much money like you said Troll is shitty at farming). It is extremely important that you stay behind the wave and out of trouble from opposing heroes. One death could destroy the game for you.
After you get level 6 your gameplan changes, you should start harassing a hero and when he leaves to go to fountain or dies turn on rampage and attack the fountain while a wave of your creeps is with you. In the course of one rampage the tower should be dead.
By the time you have HoD and working on crystalis you should begin ganking and checking on runes. From this point on you can build whatever items the game calls for. I suggest that after the core build you begin to attack other towers and gank lone heroes. By late game you will dominate whole teams.
Pros/Cons of this gameplay:
Pros:
Cheap core build
Troll becomes an amazing ganker
Troll can develop into a team player, rather than a 1v1 hero killer w/ bashers
Cons:
Requires extreme care
Troll has no disable at beginning

Treads, Vladmir, S&Y. Doesn't these 3 items turn Troll Warlord into a killing machine already? Just these 3 items can help Troll Warlord to KILL ROSHAN at a level as low as 13!!!!! What's the BKB for? Why not just go for Briza (or Butterfly)? By that time, money is just digits and it will rise so quickly you might just be able to complete both! These 2 more Items can make ou tank against even the 4th level guard towers for more than 2 minutes before acually dying.

I usually play Troll as a team player. My item build is like this in order:
ReplyDelete1. Boots of Speed (upgrade later to Boots of Travel)
2. Vladimir's Offering
3. Vanguard
4. Butterfly
5. Hyperstone (upgrade to Cuirass if game prolongs)
6. Crystalys/Buriza (if the game does not end)
For Troll, you dont need too many damage items as his attack speed with BR (bash). Enemies dont really get a chance to move much.
Alot of people underestimate Vanguard but its surprisingly a very good item on dps players. 15%Lifesteal(Vlad's) + 30% Evasion(Butterfly) + 45% 60 damage blocked (Vanguard) + Blind = not too many other survival items required.
The only real DPS item required is Butterfly (the most expensive item on the list). Other than that, any other damage items are bonus. This item build is cheaper compared to most and the game ends by the time i reach the Hyperstone.
Skill build is to get 1 level of BR at the start to survive and not to kill then max out fervor and blind after that to push fast. Rampage is gotten whenever available. Once you get a level 2 BR after the above skills, you should already be ready to kill instead of waiting until level 4 depending on how soon you get your items.

Blind is totally useless for Int heroes, coz their spells never miss! If you are facing Mortred and still wanna max up this, you'r hopeless. It only works for DPSers in the early stages.
ReplyDeleteSkill build for Troll is really situational. My build is to level up Berserker's Rage to 1, then max up Fervor and Stats, if there's no spell caster heroes on your lane. Berserker's Rage grants a little bonus damage. Don't look down to this small damage boost, it helps really a lot in your last hits. Fervor and Stats are self-explanatory.
My item build is:
1.Power Treads (Boots of Travel is not worth, because Troll already has the movement speed when he's in Rampage, I would rather leave a place in my invertory for TD Scroll)
2.Helm of the Dominator (Go for Satanic if allowed in late game)
3.Vladimir's Offering (Situational, HotD already grants sufficient life steat)
4. Monkey King Bar
5. Butterfly
6. Linken's Sphere (If there are a lot of spell caster heroes)
Why not HP boost item? Because in the early stages I would spend my attribute points on Troll's stats rather than blind. After all, the main objective in DotA is survive :-) If you can get enough kills, you don't even need a HP boost item (Don't forget Satanic) :-)

Power Trads is good to his atack speed, damed, your speed, it have so agillity to early.
Lothars is really good, can kill fast, run is you go in a trap, take the backstable to kill easy.
Satanic to you kill in a ong time, creep, etc.
MKM is to stun more, have more atack, good to the time when the hero is not stuned.
ButterFly: he will have a don't belived damed. Fast atack speed and with blind, around 70% miss.
Buriza you will have a nicest critical, making aroud 750 damed.
Sanga & Yasha, you have a more Atack speed = More stuns, the inimig cant atack, he die stuned. It inprovise your damed, too.

life steal i choose vlads over domi but domi is quite nc... u could upgrade it too satanic for increased survibilty massively...well anyway i choose vlads for extra room for orb...
orbs i choose deso... deso is good for str enemy and quite fun to be used on int and agi heroes....due to the stun lock...they will eat corruption great isnt it(my opinion again)

butterfly for obvious reason...
bkb... coz surely other team will get a disabler for a troll...
there are depending items too.... mjolnir over deso....depends on the situation,,, also domi and vladi... depending on situations too...and if u get domi... after u item lock all of ur items u will get an empty socket so u could put a buriza... ahahha well im not that pro... and not that noob... this is just my opinion

ReplyDeleteomg noobs...u can kill roshan at lvl 7 with helm of the dominator, treads and a stout shield... vladimir-optional??? ffs, lifesteal it's the only thing that helps troll survive in team battles...satanic is what u most own and u will not be defeated by anyone...and as another guy said, troll is troll because of his atack speed, so butterfly is also a must have...bkb and lothar, these are situational, but u will love these items in any game...sny is a noob item...

ReplyDeleteSo noobish guide. Vlads for range hero? :O You won't be melee all the time, so HOTD is better choice. And skill build... No words, i guess you watched AI players build and wrote it here. Miss early game is waste of skill, 1st and 3rd magic are so much better.

Troll is Easy- Farm = Godlike or No Farm = No godlike , if farmed easiest invent wud b sange and yasha and pwer threads by (lvl 12 i.e if u are a slow farmer), helm (by lvl 14 (Agies by lvl 14i.e immediately after s&y pt and helm),butter ,buriza and bkb(if there are too many spammers. Easy:)
