A while ago when Valve applied for DotA Trademark, The Fans were anxious to know what's Valve cooking inside their studios but now this news is getting more exciting. Valve appears to be registering trademark for DotA 2 and DotA 3. Looks like applying for one trademark was enough for Valve Corporation so they thought about applying for more than one.Update:

There could be two possible reasons why Valve registered extra TMs:
1. Valve is working on a DotA Trilogy.
2. They are very serious about their future so no competitor can take their place.
Reason 1 seems more appropriate because, just one day ago when these Trademarks were filled, Valve Corporation co-founder Gabe Newell said in a magazine interview that "We have three pretty big surprises in the next 12 months at least." Lets see what Valve comes up with.

ReplyDeleteNone has right to trademark DotA except it's official creators Eul's, Guinsoo etc. IceFrog is just a developer who continued Gunisoo's work. The whole DotA concept belongs to Euls.
